Product Description
Why Number 20 ? The 1951 Le Mans 24 Hour was the 19th Grand Prix of Endurance, and took place on June 22nd and 23rd. Jaguar entered 3 XK120 C race cars in the 1951 race led by the young Stirling Moss in car 22, his co-driver was Jack Fairman and the pair led the race for most of the time - that was until lap 94 which was about six hours into the race, when a loud bang brought their race to an abrupt end. The reason - a con-rod had let go due to lack of oil caused by cavitation, a similar fate had already taken out the number 23 car driven by Johnson and Biondetti but, as we all know, the number 20 car driven by the two Peters, Walker and Whitehead, went on to win giving Jaguar its most important Le Mans victory - its first. Accepted as Hand Luggage. W57cm H32cm D28cm (Lighting conditions will change the colour of the leather)
