With an innate need for speed, Lando Norris has earned the reputation of being one of the most consistent drivers on the F1 grid. Transitioning from a slightly shy yet playful test driver to McLaren’s senior driver, he now leads the team with confidence while maintaining his charm and sharp wit – this young talent has it all to play for.
Norris’ Journey
Rising through the ranks of F3 and F2 and taking on roles as a test and simulator driver, Norris joined Carlos Sainz in the fast lane with the McLaren F1 Team. At just 19 years old in his debut year in 2019, Norris made a remarkable impression, finishing in the points 11 times and outperforming his more experienced teammate – a rookie season for the history books.
And he’s only improved…
Norris quickly established himself as a future Champion contender. He secured his maiden podium in 2020, followed by four more in the 2021 season, and rarely finished outside the top 10 – solidifying his status as a strong contender for a World Title.
The 2022 and 2023 seasons saw Norris fully leverage the capabilities of his race cars, the MCL36 and MCL60, expertly navigating competitive on-track battles. Finishing the 2023 season as the most consistent driver after World Champion Verstappen, Norris has cemented himself as one of F1’s future greats.
With a new multi-year contract with McLaren, the Brit has ample time to explore, grow, and conquer. Norris’ consistency, skill, and determination keep F1 audiences eagerly anticipating the season when he takes it all, and that year could very well be 2024…
