AiM External Sensors For Speed
The AIM wheel speed sensor/pickup is available in two versions:
Magnetic Wheel Speed Sensor: This sensor is designed to be mounted using a bracket (not included) and works by sensing a trigger magnet (included) as it rotates past. Suitable mounting positions include the wheel, wheel hub, propeller shaft, or brake disc. The cable length is approximately 1.7 meters.
Hall Effect Sensor: This is a non-contact device that requires a metallic trigger to pass in front of it. A bracket will typically need to be fabricated for mounting the sensor in a suitable position. Ensure that the distance between the sensor and the trigger is between 0.5 and 2.0 mm (0.007 to 0.07 inches). The cable length is approximately 2.0 meters. A higher-quality Honeywell ABS Hall Effect sensor is also available.
Connections:
– 712 Connection: Suitable for EVO4 Data Loggers.
– 719 Connection: Suitable for MXL (Strada and Pista), MXG/MXS/MXP (including Strada), and MXL2. Use a 719-719 extension lead to extend to the required length.
