The Arai SKV-R is engineered specifically for motorsport karting, combining an advanced composite shell with refined impact-management features to provide high levels of protection, visibility and comfort. Its redesigned Complex Laminate Construction (CLC) shell and lower visor mounting position create a smoother upper profile, helping impacts glance off the helmet and improving the way energy is managed.

• Complex Laminate Construction (CLC) Shell: A multi-layer composite shell engineered from carefully selected fibres and resins to provide high structural strength while allowing controlled flex. This helps absorb and disperse impact energy efficiently for enhanced protection.
• Lowered Visor Pivot System: The visor pivot has been positioned lower on the shell, creating a smoother, rounder upper profile with fewer potential snag points. This helps impacts glance away from the helmet rather than transferring force directly into the shell.
• Lowered Visor Aperture: The visor opening is approximately 17mm lower than the previous GP-7 design, increasing the uninterrupted shell area above the visor. This supports improved impact performance and protection in critical areas.
• Extended Downward Field of Vision: The lower edge of the visor opening has been lowered by approximately 8mm, providing improved downward visibility. This makes it easier to see dashboard instruments and controls while maintaining protective coverage.
• Dual-Sided Visor Lock: A centrally positioned visor locking mechanism can be operated from either side, providing secure and reliable visor closure. Its straightforward operation also makes it easy to use while wearing gloves.
• Advanced Ventilation Layout: The air intake vents have been repositioned approximately 15mm further forward to optimise airflow through the helmet. This helps improve cooling and reduce heat build-up during longer driving sessions.
• Removable Interior Lining: The interior padding is fully removable, making the helmet easier to clean and maintain while helping to promote effective airflow and long-term comfort.
• Adjustable Cheek Pads: Redesigned cheek pads feature integrated openings for microphone installation and cable routing, making it easier to install communication systems while keeping wiring neat and unobtrusive.
• FIA 8878-2024 & Snell K2025 Certified: The Arai SKV-R meets the latest FIA 8878-2024 and Snell K2025 karting helmet standards, providing assurance that it has undergone stringent testing for impact and other relevant safety requirements.
