Stilo Verbacom Systems provides circuit racers with a very straightforward and lightweight communication system that is simple to use, doesn’t require a radio license, and provides full communication over often challenging courses like Spa and Le Mans!
The following components make up the fundamental system:
- One noise-cancelling headset for the pit crew with push-to-talk functionality
- Driver connection module and wires with voice activation and noise cancellation
- A travel case and all chargers
The two phones are connected during a race via a regular phone conversation, and each user is connected to the pit crew headset and the driver’s helmet connection module through bluetooth. The driver unit is a small, lightweight device that may be attached to the helmet if necessary or placed at a convenient location inside the vehicle.
It weighs only 150 grams and plugs directly into the Stilo helmet’s communication port. Without using any buttons, the driver merely speaks to the pit crew to establish communication. The pit crew’s headset has a PTT button that allows them to reconnect with the driver. If your helmets don’t have electronics, you can add some on to get Stilo electronics.
The Verbacom, in contrast to radio systems, can provide coverage all the way around a racetrack and does not need elaborate signal boosters or towering radio towers to get coverage. It is completely automated, so the driver or pit crew don’t need to do anything if a call is dropped; once it is set up, it will immediately reconnect.
The in-car package is far more straightforward than a typical radio system and weighs only 400 grams. For use in an endurance event, additional driver modules can be acquired. Once all of them are linked with the race car phone, drivers can simply get in and out of the car and they will immediately pair with the phone.
